Everyone thinks losing weight is about salads, sweat, and protein powder. Eat less and move more, right? Business as usual. But here’s the dirty little secret: you can do all of that, and not move an inch, if you don’t get your head in the game. It’s way more mental than people let on. The strangest part? You can have all the motivation in the world one day, and then just…nothing. Like a switch flips somewhere. One bad night’s sleep, maybe your boss pisses you off, and all of a sudden, those workout shoes stay in the closet. That’s not laziness, that’s mental burnout.
The brain is carrying a very heavy load. If you don’t train your head, your body won’t listen. I think the hardest part is not the food, it’s being at peace with a craving. That little voice at 10 pm telling you chips, cookies, something sweet. If you don’t give in and you feel like a failure, the point is you win, But the game you win is not fought, rather it is the one you step back and ask yourself about. Are you bored? Lonely? Tired? The real story is that hunger is rarely the issue.
Sometimes achieving a specific weight goal is more psychological than you think. If all you think is that, “This won’t work with my lifestyle,” then you are already going to lose. Visualizations are as important as actual movements. “I’m learning” instead of “I’m terrible at this” changes the whole edition. Sounds silly. Who cares. It works. You have also got to stop mistaking the goal as perfection. People throw in the towel after the first tough week as if that single week is the only consideration for the whole system put in place. It is absurd. Mistakes are welcomed. You are a human being.
One big meal will not ruin a lot of days or months of effort, unless you decide that quitting will solve everything. That is the uncomfortable reality. Weight loss is boring. Really boring. The same choices day in and day out. Your mind begs for something different. That is the reason why people lose momentum and motivation after starting out strong. One of the solutions is to keep your mind stimulated by meal planning. Incorporate small changes that can keep your mind alert. A reward system which can be a silly challenge. Outwit yourself in order to keep the goal interesting
The goal statement is shocking. Weight loss is boring. Really boring. The same types of choices day in and day out. Your mind begs for something different. That mentality is why you see that people lose the momentum and motivation after starting out strong. One of the solutions is to keep your mind stimulated by meal planning, incorporating small changes that can keep your mind alert. A reward system or a silly challenge, outwit yourself in order to keep the goal interesting.
It still holds true for you as well. One cannot achieve anything until the mind plays a role. It is not as much about the documentation on numbers as it is about the conversation you are having in your head. Staying sane while not grabbing instead of taking a crunchy snack. Motivation in abundant quantity vanishing magically for days on end. It becomes distinctively complex. There are simply unclear processes. But then won is not achieved in isolation. It transcends itself as they come naturally along the line.
